  • Who or What is The Life Relief Project? The Life Relief Project is a Napier-based 9D Breathwork practice. 9D is a fast-growing, internationally recognised breathwork system. Facilitators are trained, qualified, and licensed to facilitate 9D journeys.

  • What actually happens? You’ll lie down on a mat, in a softly lit room, with a pillow, blanket, eye mask & wireless headphones. You’re guided through a breathing session with music & sound. No talking. No sharing circle. Just you.

  • Is this going to be weird? We don’t do woo-woo, but it might feel unfamiliar at first. That’s normal. You’re always in control & can stop at any time.

  • Why do people sometimes scream or make noise? During 9D Breathwork (the tool we use at The Life Relief Project), some people naturally release emotion through sound - this might be crying, vocal expression, or a short scream. It’s not required… it simply happens for some people when the body lets go of stored tension. Think of it as the nervous system releasing pressure that’s been held for a long time. Many people stay completely quiet - both experiences are normal.

  • What's happening in the headphones? It's much more than music. The headphones play a guided experience that combines a facilitator's voice, immersive sound, music and carefully designed audio effects. The guidance helps you with your breathing while the sound creates an environment that's designed to help you relax, focus and become fully immersed in the experience. There's nothing you need to do except get comfortable, follow the simple breathing & see where the session takes you.

  • Will I be safe? Yes. Safety is the priority. You’re always in control & can stop at any time. This is a guided breathing session, not a performance. No one is watching you, & there’s nothing you have to get right. It’s widely used & generally considered safe & well tolerated. If you have any medical concerns, check with your GP first.

  • Who is this for? People who are stressed, overwhelmed, stuck, grieving, anxious, burnt out, or simply curious.

  • What do I have to believe? Nothing at all. No religion. No beliefs. No group ideology. This isn’t a sharing circle or anything like that. You lie down, put the headphones on, & follow the breathing. If you’re sceptical, you’ll fit right in.

  • What will I feel? People report anything from deep relaxation to emotional release. Every session is different.

  • Am I in control the whole time? Yes, you can slow down, stop or speed up at any time. You're always in the driving seat, safe & in full control.

  • What if I’m anxious or overthinking? That’s exactly who this is for. You don’t need to get it right.

  • What if I don’t feel anything? That’s completely fine. Some sessions feel subtle, some don’t. There’s nothing you need to force.

  • Do I need experience? No experience needed. Most people are trying this for the first time.

  • Do I have to talk or share anything? No. There’s no sharing, no pressure, & no expectation to talk.

  • How often should I come? Many people find huge benefit from a single session, while others choose to come weekly or monthly for deeper nervous system support.It depends on your needs & goals; there is no ‘right’ schedule.

  • What do I bring? Wear comfortable loose fitting clothes. Bring water if you want. Everything else is provided.

  • How long / how much? Group sessions: 120 minutes = $80 / Private sessions: 120 minutes = $180 / Private group session also available. See the monthly deals & specials on the booking page.

  • Is there an age limit? Yes. we ask that all participants are at least 18 years old.

  • Can I bring a friend for support? There are no spectators or waiters allowed. However; if your friend is taking part in a group session with you that's fantastic. Currently you can bring a friend FREE to any private session & selected group sessions in Onekawa, providing they wish to take part. For other group sessions, they need to be a separate booking.
